Sacred Adornment: Jewelry as Belief in Ancient Egypt

  • through October 31, 2021
  • Glencairn Museum, Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania
This exhibition explores how ancient Egyptians used items of jewelry now in the museum’s collection to adorn, protect and express devotion to the divine. By examining the materials and symbols in these ornaments, we can come away with deeper understandings of the complex ideas that guided the artists, as well as the hopes and beliefs of those who wore them.
