Orientalism: Between Fact and Fantasy examines artistic exchanges between Europe and the Middle East during the 19th century through paintings, photographs, textiles, ceramics, arms and armor, and architectural works. Drawing on approximately 180 objects from The Met’s collections and international loans, the exhibition explores how Islamic art influenced European visual culture.
